Of course, nothing is a must! We do recommend a maintenance dose of 2 grams (4 capsules) per day as a supplement to a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
The capsules are made of HPMC (hypromellose). This is a polysaccharide (carbohydrate) that is extracted from plants & wood. This is also the most common way to make vegetable/vegan capsules. HPMC is known to be easily digestible.
As far as we know, our algae are free of allergens.
However, the product may contain traces of fish, shellfish, and crustaceans. This is because the algae mix contains two types of seaweed.
Plankton is safe for children. For children up to 10 years, however, we recommend 2 capsules per day. This is partly due to the high iodine content.
For pregnant women and/or during breastfeeding, we recommend that you first discuss this with your doctor, as there is insufficient research into the use of algae during these periods.
