We've been wanting to create a plnktn clothing item for a long time. But we realized: selling all sorts of junk with a plnktn logo on it isn't who we are. We don't stand for more consumption, but for better. We decided to put the ideas on hold until we found something that fits our vision.

We've succeeded. This t-shirt was created to show what's possible when we go back to basics. For many global problems, we don't need complicated solutions; we can simply rely on nature. The most fundamental organism—algae—plays a major role in this. With this item, you can now give algae the spotlight they deserve.

1. The unisex T-shirt is printed with algae ink from California-based Living Ink. Produced CO2-negative from wastewater, it's a sustainable alternative to regular black ink made from petroleum, coal, or tar.
2. The T-shirt is also tagged with an algae label from the British company Notpla. This label is made of 30% algae and has a 70% lower climate impact than regular cardboard. It's the same sustainable material we use for the vast majority of our letterbox packages.
3. Finally, it's wrapped in algae-based plastic film, made by Sway, also from California. This film is half algae and 100% home compostable. If the entire clothing industry were to use these bags, we would save 180 billion plastic bags a year.
