Our Omega-3 contains a minimum of 250mg DHA + 50mg EPA per capsule, from a fish-free & plant-based source. The algae oil is concentrated from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp., which produces pure Omega-3. It is scientifically proven that a daily intake of at least 250mg Omega-3 is good for the heart, brain and vision (health claims approved by EFSA).

What is the capsule made of?

The capsules are made of HPMC (hypromellose). This is a polysaccharide (carbohydrate) that is extracted from plants & wood. This is also the most common way to make vegetable/vegan capsules. HPMC is known for its good absorption.

Is plankton free of allergens?

As far as is known, algae are free of allergens. However, the product may contain traces of fish, molluscs and crustaceans.

If you have a shellfish allergy, start with a low dose (1 capsule per day) to see how your body reacts.

Is plankton suitable for children and/or during pregnancy/breastfeeding?

Plankton is safe for children. For children aged 2-6 years, we recommend 2 capsules per day. For children over 6 years, the normal dosage applies.

For pregnant women and during breastfeeding, we recommend that you first discuss this with your doctor, as there is insufficient research into the use of algae during these periods.

Is plankton suitable for people with thyroid disease?

The recommended dosage of plankton (2 grams, 4 capsules) contains approximately 60% of the recommended daily amount (RDA) of iodine.

Therefore, pay attention to whether it is not better to lower the dosage to 1 gram per day. Then consult with your doctor.
